We are fans of the unknown guy dressed in red and ready for the away mission on the original series of Star Trek. And every fan of Star Trek [and even folks who aren't fans] knows what happens to the fellows wearing the red uniforms in TOS. No one ever wants to be the red shirts in an episode of Star Trek [espicially the unknown characters wearing the red shirts].

We can't forget watching the series each week just to see some nameless ensign get killed in cold blood just because he had that dreaded colored shirt on. Our friend Scotty wore red but we knew his name so he remained safe.
